CentOS Management Pack

This MP is the result of the series of articles on the SCX team blog listed here:
The greatest amount of detail in terms of walking through the development process is located in those articles.

Updates

  • (March 25, 2010) - Updated the CentOS 5 MP and the CentOS library XML to be equal to the currently-released Red Hat MP. This new revision includes the following changes:
  • Now added to CentOS
    • Replaced Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.SU.Command classes, messages, etc. with two new classes (This mirrors the changes in the Red Hat MP):
      • Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.SU.Command.Root.Success
      • Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.SU.Command.Root.Failure
  • In CentOS but not Red Hat
    • Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.Auth.Critical.Alert
    • Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.SSHAuth.PAM.Root.Success.Alert
  • Changed from previous MP version
    • Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.5.LogFile.Syslog.Root.SSHAuth.Password.Alert
      • regex filter
      • severity setting
  • several other classes changes to enclose XML data values in CDATA tags

@ Ryan, you´ll need to sealed the MP first , then you can import both files.

You will need to update the reference to the MP versions at the top of the XML so they refer to current versions of the base MPs. When you update the base MPs, the version changes and kills the link.

Ryan: follow the instructions in the blog posts by Robert mentioned/linked above. Those will guide you thru the process of sealing and referencing the management packs - you can't simply import the UNsealed version and have it working, unfortunately.

I am not able to import The CentOS Linux 5 Operating System MP as it tells me that the Microsoft.Linux.CentOS.Library is not available though it has already been imported.
